Cramp like ache in stomach?
« on: August 27, 2023, 08:45:11 PM »

Hi,
I’m 2 years into menopause. Not on HRT…. yet. Started having on/off cramp like ache? Almost like a dull period pain? Had it for a few days then it disappeared. A few weeks later it’s back? The ache can be also in my groin/vagina. Anyone any idea as what it is? Seeing my GP but couldn’t get an appointment for 10 days. Thanks for any advice.

Are you still having periods? When I started missing periods I sometimes would get the period pains as if I was going to start but didn't.

No. Not having periods now. Stopped almost two years ago. I read somewhere that it could be something called atrophy?

Atrophy can cause lots of different symptoms, drynesss, soreness, bladder problems and aching if the pelvic floor has weakened and you have a slight prolapse. Your GP will be able to see if this is the cause when examined.
