 am very post menopausal and 66 years of age recently put onto estradot patches twice weekly and the utrogestan orally continuous use.

Six weeks into treatment I suddenly had a very heavy bleed for a good few hours ,we are talking haemorrhage type bleeding …
And the cramping and pain was horrific .

That was about four days ago. We are down to a spotting now…
I did phone a Doctor Who immediately referred me to the hospital and I go there on the 30th of May to check out what’s going on..
it was really quite shocking to me because I haven’t had a bleed for about 25years

I immediately stopped all the treatment and won’t resume again until I’ve been to the doctor. Has anybody else experienced this very dramatic response to the medication.

The ovaries still produce a small amount of oestrogen ...... so it mayB that the replacement therapy has triggered that bleed!  Such a shock  :o
