Testosterone has made no difference
« on: April 21, 2023, 12:31:45 PM »

Hi,

I have been on testogel since last August 4th last year and I have noticed no benefits whatsoever, in fact  the only effect has been on my hair! I seem to be losing a lot every day and it definitely looks thinner near my scalp. Libido wasn’t an issue anyway but I was hoping after all the hype, that testosterone was the missing key! I’ve been using one sachet across 8 days but now I’m reducing it to twice a week before coming off it completely. My blood test showed that my level had increased to the top end of acceptable levels for women (can’t remember exact number possible 1.6). They were previously 0.3 Shgb 64.9.
I’d be interested to hear from any ladies who haven’t had the results they were hoping for from testosterone.
Also, would it be worth me asking for a different brand?

As your libido was normal probably low testosterone wasn't the problem. What symptoms do you want to improve? Apart from hormones there are lots of other things that could be implicated (vit d, iron, thyroid etc etc). I have benefited from T but my libido was zero and I was repeatedly pulling muscles for no reason.

Hello. 2cats

I was prescribed testosterone by Newson Health and I don't believe it did very much for me. Looking back it did raise my libido a little but not by much and I developed lots of dark hair on my upper thighs where I spread the cream.

I am post meno and as part of the regime I had to load up on Oestrogen before starting testosterone.  I was assured that it would work it's magic within six weeks but when this didn't happen I was told that I would see a result within twelve weeks. I continued with the testosterone but after a while I slowly reduced the dose and then stopped altogether. I haven't used it for about a year and I honestly haven't noticed any difference.

It seems that for some women testosterone is indeed the magic bullet but sadly not for me.

I agree with sheila99 that a blood test to look at other factors would be a good idea.

Wishing you well and take care.
