Hi ladies vaginal Atrophy is the pits I am 65 had hystorectomy 22 yrs ago .last 2 yrs need to up vagifem and ovestin. I get low period cramps and it is definitely due to lack of estrogen. I still have overies and last few months used .vagifem 3x week yes moisturiser inbetween and if bad alternate with ovestin cream inside .or vagifem and ovestin outside. If too strong or nips I mix ovestin with moisturiser and apply. My dr ok with this she said can use vagifem and apply ovestin outside and on just inside. Seems to me tril and error all diffrent. But it's what works for yo. Not on hrt and no womb so said OK as very very low absorbing. Hope this helps ladies. I too am still not sure if useing too much but I know other ladies use it combo 7 days week some 2 vagifem a night if bad. So if any one info on safety be glad to hear as I do have health anxiety  thanks keep going  :D ::)

Quality of Life is important.  As some1 who had treatment for breast disease in the 1990s, it never occurs to me not to keep up with mammograms, cervical smears and I use 'ovestin' regularly.

3 times a week may not be enough all the time, it's about feeling comfortable.  Some ladies use every night.

My meno specialist said even using Vagifem every day was only equivalent to 2 systemic HRT tablets a year. She put that in letter to my GP surgery as one GP said I was risking womb cancer. So if I have any issues I point that letter out.

Found this while googling anxiety, thrush and atrophy flareup link. It's not scientific but makes perfect sense and I totally relate to it.

I can completely relate to the information in the link. Every time I go through a stressful time my atrophy flares up too.
I had settled on Vagifem & Ovestin six days a week but because of muscle inflammation causing me pain and disturbed sleep, I find I need more of the VA treatment.
I stopped worrying long ago about what might or might not happen in the future using VA treatment every day, life is too short and I have no intention of suffering unnecessarily.

I always thought the flare ups were caused by stress and this explains it, just wish I could sort out my anxiety now. Doing CBT therapy at the moment but a way to go yet.
I take vagifem and ovestin everyday now and not been able to reduce it since I had recurring thrush ( probably stress related too). Just been changed to vagirux which hasn't helped the anxiety so gone back to vagifem for a couple of weeks then I'll try the vagirux again. I'm sure it'll be fine it's just psychological.

When I get the need2P symptoms I swallow 2 nurofen 3 times a day to ease the nip as the bladder shuts off the urine flow.

Bladders fine, my flare ups is burning, dry, sore vagina and vulva. Nurofen do nothing for that I'm afraid.
