Evorel 75: should I be on progesterone too?
« on: March 03, 2023, 07:29:12 AM »

My GP changed my HRT from Evorel Conti to Evorel 75 because my symptoms were starting to reappear and because my FSH were, in her words were “sky high”.
I’ve been on Evorel 75 for only 5 weeks but I’ve bleeds half those days, which prompted me to do some reading, which unfortunately has just lead to more questions 🤦🏼‍♀️. I know Evorel conti contains progesterone in the last 4 patches in the box but does Evorel 75 contain progesterone? And if it does not, shouldn’t I be talking progesterone too. I still have a womb and I’ve read that if you still have a womb, you should always take progesterone if having Estradiol?
Any help would be most appreciated 🙏

Hello, yes you are correct and you should have been given a separate progesterone (usually utrogestan capsules) to take every night.

You need to go back to the GP.  I’m angry on your behalf! Hopefully you pointing out her error will make her more careful/educated in future.

I’m presuming you dont have the Mirena coil btw? That can also serve as the progestogen component.

Thank you Vanillalover🙏. I don’t have a coil fitted. So I’m definitely going to call them as soon as the open this morning.
