oestrogel increase
« on: December 05, 2022, 07:50:23 AM »

just wanted some advice.

been oestrogel since beginning of nov.

on 3 and a bit pumps sleep improved a lot and anxiety had almost gone.

yesterday went up to 4 pumps took me ages to nod off i felt wired and jittery and when i woke up this morning anxiety is back.

is this because ive gone from 3 and a bit pumps to 4 too quickly or is it just i need time to settle on 4 pumps or is it simply 4 pumps is a bit too much.

thanks for any advice xxx

also dotty

i put one pump on inner thighs but i feel tbe pump and a bit i put on my outer upper arm dries too quickly.

i spread mine on thinly and then leave to dry.

is this right for maximum absorption x

Hi I’m afraid there is no simple answer to that question either. Some say leave to dry and some say rub in. I think I do a mixture of both !

Remember that it won’t be a straight journey … some days will be better than others.

The best thing is not to overthink x

Hi Floo36.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I've read to rub it in and also not to rub but spread it on then leave to dry.

Like Dotty, I think I do a mixture of the two, ie. spread it on and rub a bit then leave to dry x

I recently upped to 4 pumps, i was like a bouncy Kangeroo first night ;D  I then decided to try 3.5 pumps for two weeks before upping to the 4, it seems to have worked.

Discogirl…. I have actually decreased my dose down to 2 pumps and I’m feeling not jittery or anxious anymore. I was getting a lot of hot flushes but they seem to be calming down now. That being said I changed the way I apply the gel two days ago I’ve stopped patting and gliding it as I was advised to do but have just applied it to a smaller area not rubbed it in and let it dry and I have to say for the last two days. I have definitely noticed an improvement I just hope it lasts! I know everybody absorbs differently I am clearly a terribly poor absorber having had an oestrogen blood level of only 53 a couple of weeks ago. I am hoping that maybe the change of application may help time will tell!. Xx

Hi Pippa52,

When you say you apply the gel to a smaller area, I apply mine to the inner thighs and I sort of stroke it down if you know what I mean. Then I apply my third pump on my outer arm, do you apply to a smaller area than this?

I've actually just had my oestradiol levels back, they were 19 (I am post meno) at the end of june, I went on hrt end of August and as of last monday they were 267, but I had just applied my gel two hours before.

I hope the way you apply your gel helps, sorry if you have told me, but can you not use patches x

Hi levels should be taken before you've applied gel. 267 is a low reading . x
