Estrogen dropping how can I get more in-on me.
« on: October 17, 2022, 06:48:42 PM »

Hi all, I’ve posted here on and off my journey but I am now back on the estradot 100 patches, using beconnaise nasal spray to pre calm the skin I can tolerate the itching, without the beconnaise I blister under tha patch (I have tried other patches, same problem). However my oestrogen level is at 74!

That is nearly as low as when I went on HRT in 2019, then I got the level to 600 and felt great, but then reacted to patches, moved to gel stabilised at 550 was ok, then had a hysterectomy and BSO, 2 years ago. Since that my skin has reacted to the gel and was causing burning itching and scaleyskin using 4 pumps I was down to 200 oestrogen, so back to patches and now it is at 74..  I have also reacted to the spray and tried both types of gel. I briefly tried the Elleste solo tablets, but I was so poorly as I was at 2mg so my low estrogen plummeted more when I switched. Other than the implant, is there anything else out there? Or can anyone give me a positive implant story? And a private clinic in the south/southwest I can get it!

Hi 3isenough

Sorry to hear you're having problems finding the right oestrogen preparation with your allergies etc.

Depends where you are in the SW?  if you go to the tab at the top - specialists - it takes you to the British Menopause Society website: https://thebms.org.uk/find-a-menopause-specialist/

Looks like there are a few in the SW though one is a nurse practitioner (in Taunton)  though there is another at  Glastonbury ( a doctor), one in Plymouth and another in Truro? There used to be one in Dorchester but he may not still be there? (consultant - Mr Dooley who also runs a clinic in Harley Street I think).

There really are only patch, spray, gel tablet and implant (wasn't sure if these were still available?). Very -fashioned now but there is the tablet Premarin if you can cope with that? Many women used this for years and at least you don't have to take progesterone. This is stronger than estradiol because it contains a mix of horse oestrogens ....

Thanks hurdity I have found a local Swindon area dr who will do the implant. It’s got to be worth trying, I’m not mad keen on Premarin but if it is th least option so be it. My mum said she did well with tibolone but not sure that is often prescribed now, plus I am on testogel so not sure if that cross indicated.

Implant first and fingers crossed for that because right now I feel awful.
