Hi, I'm 41, no menopause symptoms but last few periods were unregular and more painful than usual.
Blood tests on day 2,3,4 and 10 all showed high fsh (30-32).  Blood test showed high oestrogen on day 10 and day 16.
Has anyone has high fsh and high oestrogen? I'm confused. Medichecks doctors said it can't be menopause with high oestrogen but I've read oestrogen can be high in perimenopause.

Medichecks are good at doing tests but not so good, in my opinion, with what advice they sometimes offer!

A high FSH can mean that you have a depleted ovarian reserve and can be used as an indicator that you are perimenopausal.

In perimenopause your estrogen levels can fluctuate wildly and get very high as you have discovered.

As you’re not having any of the more distressing menopause symptoms at the moment it’s probably best to wait and see how things pan out for now, with the option of perhaps looking at hrt in the future.

We’re not all the same but I sailed through peri with just some mild hot flushes and it wasn’t until 2 years into menopause that symptoms started.

What is a high FSH reading?
When I was diagnosed as post meno the FSH had to be 100 or over for two tests six weeks apart.
Perhaps 32 isn't so high..................

I think the upper limit of normal fsh was 8ish so I'm 3-4 times higher.

I'd be keen to start hrt as soon as possible from the start of perimenopause so I'll look into it.
