Go back and tell your GP that no woman is ever TOO YOUNG
explain that some girls never have a period; some have a few then stop; women go into what is [incorrectly] called 'early menopause' ....... that he/she should listen to your symptoms, not be ageist which is illegal in England. Is there a Nurse Practitioner who would be more useful, if not ask for an appt to dedicated menopause clinic. NOT a gyane!
Explain also that peri-menopause are the (10) years prior to the end of periods = menopause. However: during those years women feel all kinds of problems as hormones rise and fall and oestrogen can give lots of symptoms. My periods waxed and waned for a few years, sometimes with 6-7 months between. It is said that we should count 12 months clear of bleeds B4 we can think we are 'there', however. Nature can throw in a curved ball so we have to begin counting from 1.
Blood tests are reliably unreliable. You can't be prescribed testosterone via a GP unless recommended by a dedicated menopause specialist, (not a gynae.). I would ask for a referral sooner rather than later as there are waiting lists.
Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use.
