Gynaecology waiting lists soar 60%
« on: April 05, 2022, 07:43:38 AM »

Hi All

Yet again it seems women’s health is not getting the priority it deserves!

Add to this the diabolical shortage of hrt across the country, I wonder how anything is ever going to change?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-10684155/Gynaecology-waiting-lists-soared-60-Covid.html

Who could speak up for us about these issues?
How can this forum have influence with the decision makers?

More questions than answers :-\

I know there is little faith in the government and rightly so imo, but Diane Danzebrink is suggesting emailing our local MPs to push change around this necessary service as well as addressing the shortages we are facing of HRT.
If we all did it and encouraged others to that aren’t on here perhaps they’d listen. It’s a way of taking action instead of feeling frustrated and helpless?
Just a thought….

I believe that many specialities have waiting list due to GPs refusing or not being willing to refer patients during C-19!  There was already a back log.  Add to that the number of patients who don't turn up on any given day without letting the Hospitals know ..........  >:( = missed slots.

I don't know if this includes meno services but if it does it's hardly surprising. Many women need a referral to a meno clinic only because their gp is too ignorant to prescribe properly. All except difficult cases should be treated by their gp. Anyone who needs testosterone has to see a specialist to get it, not for any medical reason but purely because of the bureaucratic mess of no product licensed for women. And the likes of my gp who think I should see a specialist every time I need a new prescription for T.
