HRT problem?
«
on:

I’ve been using gel for 2 days after switching from patches (GP guidance) but I’ve had terrible vaginal/cervix pain. I couldn’t get through the night without paracetamol.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Is this different to the dreadful cramps you've been experiencing recently with the bleeding?

Hi..
Yes it seems to be more focused on my uterus area and not just generalised cramping. I’ve had a bit of stabbing pains too on the left hand side.
I thought the GP had carried out a smear and not a swab but waiting for the results of that.

Oh dear pink, you are having a tough time of things right now 😢
The gel shouldn’t be causing you this pain really, maybe a few cramps/headaches etc initially whilst your body gets used to it.
Think you need a thorough examination now, to determine exactly what is causing your pain?
When is the scan ?x

changes can be scary, even when we want them

It could be that if the GP has taken a swab or a smear test, that the vaginal area is reacting as a defence mechanism.

It was a swab…
I’ve got the scan tomorrow afternoon now so I’ll see what they discover!

Are you up to date with your smear tests?

Last one was almost 5 years ago. I always attend and my next one is due in December.

Good luck today with your internal scan. What time are you going?

It will be good to get it done and it only takes a couple of minutes.

Well wasn’t a couple of minutes! Despite my 2mm lining, the Gynae decided ‘as I was there and due to the bleeding’ to do a biopsy. She couldn’t get anything and decided not to pursue it and to just “leave me be” and to carry on taking my HRT 🤷🏼♀️ She thought it was all to do with hormones..
I won’t describe the biopsy but anyone that’s had this done will know what it’s like.

Just to add that I wasn’t given an internal scan as the previous ultrasound had been normal. But I was given an examination and all was normal.

Hi yes I’ve had the pipelle biopsy twice and it’s not very pleasant.
Sounds like the bleed was just one of those things. Hope everything settles down now . xxx
