Utrogestan v. Mirena
« on: March 05, 2022, 02:11:14 PM »

Hi again ladies, I've been on Utrogestan with Oestrogel for 4 weeks and find that the Utrogestan has greatly improved the quality of my sleep, yay! I'm only on it until I can have a Mirena coil fitted as my GP says Oestrogel and Mirena are the best combination for me. I've read online that with a coil the progesterone released only stays in your womb so I'm concerned I will lose the sleep enhancing effect that I currently get with Utrogestan. Does anyone know if you can take Utrogestan as well as having a Mirena coil?

Also, is it ok to have a shower say an hour after applying Oestrogel? I find the smell quite strong and long-lasting so it would be great to do that without losing any effects.

Thanks in advance for any help x
