Yep.     as oestrogen levels drop the muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  I have been advised gentle exercises by a physio and to take pain relief as necessary.  Now, about remembering to do those exercises  :whist:

Hi tambourine queen

I can sympathise, everyday I have new aches and pains, today is really bad, I feel so old. My legs feel so heavy and today my hand had shooting pains for around ten mins, they were very painful but now gone.
Are you on HRT? I am on patches but with the return of night sweats and fatigue I have been advised to try gel and Utrogestan.
I do gentle exercise and walk everyday.
Sending big hugs. Xxx

Yes, I’m suffering aches and pains at the moment, particularly around my knees and coccyx, it’s more muscular I think than joint pain. I’m blaming some of it on the weather! I’m postmeno now but the aches are no better, still think my hormones are balancing out. I do sympathise but find a hot water bottle works wonders.

Hi tambourine queen,
Yes me too, aches and pains have been constant for me, nothing relieves them, pain relief, physio and hrt and still I feel 90 years old, every muscle and joint aches everyday, some worse than others for months now it's been my left shoulder and neck, my gp is trying to diagnose me with fibromyalgia but I don't agree with him, I think it's just menopause and aging in my case although I'm only 48 I dread how I feel in another 10 years, I also walk miles everyday with my dog does nothing to ease it, agree with lioness86 hot water bottle does wonders better than pain relief.

Tambourine queen it was joint pain that started all this off for me nearly 3 years ago

Woke up one morning with the worst pain in both my elbow joints and also my back.   My knees also joined in occasionally.

I still have the joint pain now but nothing anywhere near as bad as it used to be.

Anxiety is the worst for me at the moment and has been for the last 6 months or so. Some days are much worse than others

As one thing goes away it’s replaced by something else 🙄

Thank goodness for all of the support we get on here. This place is a life saver

Hope you are doing ok

Big hugs to you xx

Thanks guys. Good to know I’m not the only achy one.  Not on HRT as doctor thinks it’s too early. I’m 46 and probably noticed changes coming for a year now. Started with lower back pain for me. This month it’s my right hand side from waist to ribs.
I take magnesium, vit d and vit b12 and I’m quite active. But maybe need some light yoga.
Last month it was weird twitching and burnt mouth, before that it was hideous depression, before that it was headaches’ it’s a bloody rollercoaster!!!!!!
Sending love xx

Your GP is out of kilter!   If he/she refuses when you ring for an appt next week ;-) ask for a referral to a menopause clinic.  No woman is too early for menopause.  Some girls get 1 period then no more, very rarely some girls fail to menstruate.  Ever.  So no one is too early!

MayB keep a mood/food/symptom diary and read off to the GP?  Is there a dedicated Dr with an interest in women's health?  One should go on symptoms not age or blood tests!

It’s a fairly young woman I go to- she’s good with the health anxiety this has all brought. Lol! I’m a bit disappointed in her as I assumed, being young, that she’d be more up to date in her thinking. I’m logging via balance app just now.

Me too, I’m on my four year of menopause. The first year it was my lower back, mid back and upper back. The second year pain that comes and goes around my ribs, comes for a couple of months then goes again. In my mid second to third year I put my ribs out three times without doing anything to them. This can last 6 weeks of constant bad pain, I find tiger balm helps a lot.
The whole menopause I can get pain any where on my body, like a stabbing pain, for seconds or minutes then goes away.

I’ve seen my doctor many times, had X-rays, MRI, CT Scan, seen rheumatologist, neurologist, ENT Specialist. And no one can find anything. Still seeing the neurologist on a bad day I was getting stabbing facial pains and headaches that only last seconds to minutes about 100 times a day.

I had a hysterectomy still got ovaries at age 44, went into menopause 4 months later. I’m not allowed on HRT as my ovaries are still giving me problems.
I would just like to say menopause is crap  :P

I had this so badly over the last few months I ended up having acupuncture on the NHS (3sessions from the physio at our doctors surgery) and it reduced my pain by about 80%. I also started taking high strength hyaluronic acid tablets, which helped too.

Me too. Hips and lower back are the worst.  Fingers not too good and a really painful spot on the sole of my foot that comes and goes.  Feel lousy every morning.  I walk a lot, do gentle stretching, not overweight.  It gets you down. Constant. I don't even recognise myself these days!

Everywhere for me today  :-\.  I did the exercises from the physio and feel worse.  I have painful spots in my buttocks, over the pelvis and my legs feel so cold.  Nurofen hasn't touched it.

Hello achey people.
Really interested to hear someone saying about rib pain. I get mad rib pain. I broke a rib sledging in 2010 (😂) and it gets sore where my breakage was. It’s mad.

Danced around a bit today and tried to forget it. No such luck.

Sledging .........  ;D  :-X

I have a sore spot to touch where the drain site is following surgery in the 1990s. No problem with clothing or sleeping on that side.  Knees and low back hurt tonight.
