Hello! New and going insane!
« on: January 31, 2022, 03:15:23 PM »

Hi all
So looking forward to chatting all things perimenopause as I constantly think I’m going insane!!!!!
I live in Scotland and I’m 46 and the mum of a 6 year old. I’ve found peri quite hard to accept as my kid is so wee- weird to get my head around being that age! Lol!
Thanks for the accepting me on here.

Hi TambourineQueen.

I often think how did I get to this age. 57! 🙀 😂
Where did all those years go. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Time waits for no one. 😏
Anyway, someone’s always on to offer help, just ask away.  :welcomemm:

  I'll never be a Granny  ;D.  'auntie' as my nephew said last week, made me feel even older.  Had he been closer I would have clipped his ear.

Doesn't look like it, both nephews can hardly put food on the table due to bad degree choices which haven't given them regular incomes.

A 6 year old with be active as well as noisy - add peri symptoms into the mix and : nope you aren't going insane!  It's Life.  With extras  ::)

I assume that the child is in School?

Welcome, @TambourineQueen - I know how you feel, I'm also 46 with a v young child. I've been in peri for five years that I know of - it took me a long time to realise what was going on as I thought the hot sweats were a result of running around playing with a hyperactive toddler! I'd not long finished breastfeeding when it all started - another hormone change that added to the confusion. I also found it very hard to accept as I'd never even heard of perimenopause at the time.
This forum is fantastic - people here are so helpful.
