You just get a positive test result.  The lab knows which strain it is, not sure whether they tell you or not.

I would ask  ;D

My friend wasn't told.   :-\ I think that she is too shocked to have become infected.

There’s nobody to ask.  You get a text.

Previous new variants gradually become dominant.  No reason not to expect this to happen with this one.  Certainly top dog in London now.

Yep.  If we can kill it off with vaccines ........ as we did with smallpox.  However, it is what it is.  It's out there.  Probably better to get it into the populous as one would do with chickenpox - anyone remember parties so that the kids had it 'all at one time'?  Lasted 3-5 weeks ...........

Unsustainable pressure on the NHS - same old. Same old.  I wonder if people who test positive but have no symptoms should continue working?  When does it actually get spread, in the 1st few hours/days/weeks .........

Most people I have talked to in the last couple of weeks are convinced that we will all get Omicron at some point and hopefully that will be the beginning of the end, as it were.   Starting today,  booking for the booster is available for anyone 18 and over.   I'm due to go Jan.19th.

It is thought that the virus will mutate low enough for it to be 'normal 'flu' ......... how long that will take?

They don't find out the strain/variant for about another 4 or 5 days and we don't get any update on this. At least I didn't. I am pretty sure mine was Omicron though.

In Wales sports must be without supporters watching from 26th :-X doesnt make sense, you can watch it inside in a pub on tv but not in the open air.

You can go and sit inside and watch a panto but not sit outside and watch football, no logic  :'(

I would say they've lost the plot, but that implies that at some point they knew what they were doing.🙄

 :bighug:  love it April - I've said that from about, February 2020.    ::)

Too many people giving too much information about very little.

I can't understand why Wales doesn't shut down now.  Boxing Day is another week away and I doubt if people will keep sensible distances  :-\.  All or nowt to make a fire break of 3 weeks might work?

Anyone know of anyone with seasonal 'flu? or a cold ?
