I don't require a new one.   :-\. It does what I need it to do: switches on/off, I can send texts and occasionally someone might phone me.  Usually I don't recognise the ring tone  ;D

Treat yourself to a new one?  Love my phone.

Me too! I use it for so much. Just got a new one as I burnt the screen out on the last one  ;D. Particularly love being able to use WhatsApp for free phone calls to my friends in New Zealand and France. Google Maps app too is my friend!  :)

All those old phones go where exactly  :-\.  All those precious metals inside, especially gold  :o can be reclaimed, by whom though?  We take all our computers etc. apart and take the gold to our dealer when it weighs enough.

Apparently there is yet another mutant virus doing the rounds?  Hype to get us to have vaccines ?  or reality  :-\

The old phones are recycled. Waste recycling centres have bins for them or various charities accept them. All reusable parts are extracted. You can also sell even old phones via sites such as .usic Magpie. I only got £10 for mine though due to the screen. Maybe a new thread  :)

You can also donate them to charity, certain charities have envelopes for you to send them.

Did start a new thread

Will we be called for C-19 boosters as we were for the original two jabs?

Yes but not until it's 6 months since your last covid vaccination. When you get to that date I think you can also book it yourself online.

So: another variant in S Africa so flights are suspended - people are needing to isolate and take regular tests once they land here .  That'll mess C.mas/New Year for many.

We should get our boosters at a walk-in centre tomorrow - weather allowing.  4cast is dire  :(

I heard about the new variant this morning, it's supposed to be more transmissible and vaccine tolerant?

The 5 to11-year-olds are now permitted to get their 1st shot here.

It's been known for 4/5 days in S Africa.  I don't suppose the UK will close her borders completely ..........  >:(

1st case in Belgium.

Yes, unvaccinated woman who had a very mild case and did not pass it on to family members.

Bad case of media hysteria though.
