Hi Jag2107 - Looking at your past posts it is likely at your age (?58) you are post-menopausal and especially given you were 9 months without a period before. There are a few women who continue to be ovulating at this age but in the minority. Other reasons are problems with the womb lining eg fibroids and polyps. I note you had a polyp in the past. Has the recent bleeding been checked out? If all is otherwise well then the only other probable reason for the bleeding if it's not settled after 6-9 months of using the same regime, is that the balance between progesterone and oestrogen is not right, specifically that the progesterone dose is not high enough to protect the womb and stop it from thickening? Depernding on what the doc says you could take it vaginally at the same dose though most women do not want to do this continuously, or increase the dose, or try an increased dose on a cycical basis. You could also do this but with the 3 day break - which is designed to allow for a bleed if the womb lining has thickened.
Problem with utrogestan dosing is it is prescribed as one dose irrespective of the oestrogen dose, where in fact as far as I recall the trials were with low and medium doses of oestrogen (hopefully remembered correctly!). The progestogen dose required is dependent on the oestrogen dose so at higher oestrogen doses may not be sufficient. Do discuss with your specialist/GP.
