Up and down symptoms
« on: May 05, 2021, 12:00:01 PM »

Hi everyone!

Wondered what you thought are on symptoms coming and going whilst on hrt but no ovaries? I know having ovaries can still produce and fluctuate but Im guessing having no ovaries I shouldn't get fluctuations  - at least big enough to cause symptoms? Every now and then I get tingling joints and parts or arms and shins -  maybe more numb than a tingling like they are cold.  B12 is fine. Could this be oestrogen too low? My meno specialist says at 210 mol my levels are good (Im 41),so Im not sure its HRT related. Ive had so many symptoms and checks the past 2 years since the operation that they say its just adhesions.  I worry they will miss something that's serious and just put it down to menopause or adhesions or that they will actually find something worse! Cant win haha I cant do symptom checker anymore just keeps saying MS! which really isn't helping my health anxiety!

im wondering if testosterone could be involved? The specialist is loathed to prescribe based on the lack of long term evidence about side effects. and given Ive had two types of tumour Im hesitant too!

There may be a large enough piece of ovary left behind to have an occasional boost which 1 may become aware of.  Who is overseeing your medication?

Could there be part of an ovary behind? I didn't know that. I have tried so many people. Ive paid to see a nurse at the Louise Newson clinic, then two other NHS ones that contradicted each other so I gave up with them all. then got fed up again so asked the nurse at the hospital who took out the ovaries that I was feeling crap so now see another NhS specialist she recommenced that all the ladies at my age see and thing is really good.

When did you have surgery?  Sometimes the stem is difficult to remove so although the ovary is taken, the stem remains?  If it's within the last 18 months I would ring the Secretary to ask if it says in your medical notes if a piece was left.  That may help with future treatments.

ah really, it was 2.5 years ago. I wasn't allowed on HRT for 2 months after but have been on it since then.

I would still ask the question  ;)

Adrenaline surges 4 me was like hot water flowing through my veins. When I had 'tamoxifen' I had cold flushes!
