Hi ladies
I contacted my consultant (who is a meno specialist). I told her that on Evorel conti (3 weeks)...I am experiencing crushing fatigue everyday especially mornings. My anxiety levels seem heightened (basically not even a little change in that symptom) She said the following:-
“You could try a higher dose of oestrogen and oral Utrogestan and get that from your GP”...or
“You could continue with Evorel conti and see whether you feel better , otherwise please do not hesitate to book a further appointment.”
I have no clue what this means in terms of what is oral Utrogestan and is this taken alongside the patch I already have??
I'm not an expert but I have had a lot of help on here so I thought I would give some back.
I'm confused, because according to this
https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/product/10929/smpc evorel conti contains a synthetic progesterone norethisterone.
I have heard a lot of women not get on with norethisterone.
What I interpret your meno specialist to mean is this
"you can try an oestrogen only patch and use utrogestan"
Utrogestan is known as a bio identical hormone.
Maybe you might want to try oestrogen only gel, and utrogestan, you could discuss this with your GP.
I would be dubious of taking oral utrogestan along with a patch that already contains progesterone, however I am not very knowledgeable and hope someone else comes along.
If I were in your shoes, I would use oestrogen only patch or gel, plus oral utrogestan.
