Vagifem ovestin
« on: September 27, 2020, 03:24:28 PM »

Hi all
I'm fed up of focusing on my vagina but please could you ladies help me out.
I have  taken  3x Vagifem for months now taking Ovestin for labia outer parts.
The ovestin has been for 5 days so far no improvement very disappointed.
Just brought some multi gyne Actigel.
Wondered if this can be used as well. Finding it tricky to think how to use it in-between the other things and will affect the Oestrogen absorption.
Any advice would be much appreciated
How I long for those days when I wasn't preoccupied with my vaginal area. So painful .x

So: use the 'vagifem' nightly for another 3 weeks.  It can take a while: sometimes 2-3 months: to ease the symptoms internally as well as the vulval area.  I find KYJelly or Savlon in the outer lips eases any dryness.  I have Ovestin regularly.

Have a look at the 'sylc' and 'yes' websites - some ladies find these products useful.  You may be able to get freebies ;-) Have you read the bladder issues and vaginal atrophy threads?

Hi Jutee, 5 days isn't long with the Ovestin, keep going! It will take longer than that to help rebuild the tissues. Maybe do as CLKD says and use Vagifem nightly for a while. Also you can use a decent moisturiser such as one of the Yes products, or maybe Sylk. (Not KY Jelly which is ultimately drying. You need something pH matched to the area.) Why do you think you need MultiGyn?

Good resources for dealing with VA are Jane Lewis's book 'Me and my Menopausal Vagina' (Amazon), her Vaginal Atrophy Facebook support group (private), and her Instagram page where there are many useful videos and interviews with experts. Jane Lewis is Maryjane on here, but doesn't post often nowadays.

Hi Jutee

I got some cream called “Olive and Bee” made from natural ingredients and it has really helped ease outer area, maybe it would help you.

I am using it with Ovestin too.

Hope you can find something to help.

It's Trial and Error.  Once U find something that works, stick with it.

Ah yes CLKD, but you're one tough cookie with your scented bubble baths and KY Jelly! Enjoy it while you can, as many VA ladies would go up in flames in a bubble bath  ;D. As you often say, if it works....
Best wishes,

:peace:  yep.  When I use 'savlon' DH reminds not to use too much so that it heals up ;-).
