Gel and utrogestan
«
on:

Had my gp consult and have asked for gel and utrogestan to start my hrt.
Any advice or tips greatly appreciated. I'm 44. Tried every combined pill, none worked for me. Hrt next stop. I just want quality of life!
Where best to put the gel? How much to start with?

Hi Crispychick,
I started on 2 pumps gel. I put on thighs in the morning after a shower and then let it dry while I do hair/makeup etc. Don't put any lotions or potions on the area you are going to apply the gel to as it might affect the absorption. It usually takes around 10-15 mins to dry.
Utrogestan you take at night. Lots of ladies on here use it vaginally as it is more effective that way and allegedly has fewer side effects. I take 200mg utro to control bleeding but lots of ladies on here are OK with 100mg vaginally.
Hope that helps! There's a oestogel/utrogestan support thread on here somewhere that is really useful too.

The gel is lovely I am on one pump a day, I alternate it between each leg at night when I get into bed, been on it for ever. I use the utrogestan 100mg for 12 days every 5 to 6 weeks, its a good combo to be on, hope you find it works well for you.

Thank you ladies.
I thought I had to use utrogestan 12 days out of every 28, so you can extend the regime and go longer, as u say 5 go 6 weeks.
