Constant complaining
« on: June 20, 2020, 08:59:50 PM »

Every time I open my mouth I seem to be complaining.  I don't know how my husband stands it , I can hardly stand it!  There seems to be a constant stream of negativity running through my brain, even if i?m trying to be more uplifting, I can just feel it.  And I don't want to socialise,  I don't want to do any entertaining or have anyone ask anything me I just want to be left alone.

Don't I sound fun!

;D.  yep.  I certainly whinge a lot and DH can shut off.  I moan at others not parking correctly, parking the wrong way at night, not keeping away from others whilst shopping: I shout at the NEWS  ::)

My biggest complaint is noise - what's yours? Lawnmowers at any time of day: people doing house repairs continually; dogs barking and owners telling them to 'shut up' so the dog continues  >:(

We have a thread on 'noise' here somewhere  :(

I'm not comfortable with the amount of complaining I do and I know it's part of an issue that I need to deal with.  My mental health is under pressure and getting worse, I have suffered from anxiety and depression since puberty and now I get anxiety attacks and paranoia especially before my period starts.

I don't have many physical symptoms yet (i?m 47) except the odd palpitation but my mood can be on the floor so I don't know if it's too early for HRT.  I'm also oestrogen dominant so would HRT fix that by introducing progesterone or make it worse?

With regards to noise I quite like a lawnmower (at a reasonable time). When I was very little my dad used to mow the lawn once i'd gone to bed so I find it quite soothing. However, dogs barking; sniffing and eating noises really set me off so much so that sometimes I have to leave the room

? oestrogen dominant ?  :-\

What support do you have for mental health?  I wouldn't be here without my regular anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication.

Maybe keep a mood/food/symptom diary to chart progress?  Mark the last monthly period, how you feel prior and after a bleed.  Think about your age and which symptom you need to ease first?  Then have a chat with the Practice Nurse but do beware that many GPs still aren't menopause aware  :-\.  Take the diary with you ;-)

Some GPs believe that unless a lady is having hot flushes that she can't be menopausal  >:( whereas some of us never have flushes  ::)

I know oestrogen dominant is a term from the alternative clan.  I'd rather stick with science and recommended guidelines   :)

I don't really have any support for my mental health, I have had mental health issues for 36 years, PMDD, really bad PND and now perimenopause so i?m sort of left to it.

I would like to address my mood - I am irritable, anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, lack confidence and on bad days add panic attacks and paranoia too.  Would HRT fix this and what would I take?  I quite fancy just sticking a patch on but is the progesterone in them body identical or synthetic?

I want to feel positive and happy and it feels as though it's been several years (since age 42 and i?m now 48) since I truly felt both for any
length of time.

There is so much info to sift through  :-\
