Probably to do with the heating process - maybe not up to temperature for the whole process or maybe not enough preservative etc added? Who knows but guess what we had on our Ritz a few days ago?  :o

Yesterday we issued a product recall alert for all our Primula Cheese tubes following the discovery of Clostridium botulinum in one of our products.

Our teams have been working round the clock and we can now confirm that only tubes with the below best before dates are affected by the product recall:

150g Primula Cheese tubes, all flavours ? BB 25.12.20 to BB 28.01.21
100g Primula Cheese tubes, all flavours ? BB 30.10.20 to BB 10.12.20

Have you checked your tubes?

It's a pretty bug ;-)

Thanks Taz.
I've noticed since lockdown I'm getting loads of product recall notices on my Google feed. There have probably always been new ones every day but I didn't see them before. It's actually quite shocking how many there are in a week. Some are more minor but botulism is a biggie .

It is worrying and Primula are getting a load of stick on their FB feed.

It is interesting how it develops if it's exposed to oxygen and obviously is the reason why you shouldn't use food from damaged tins.

https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/botulism

Reading about it I would think that something has gone wrong with the acid or salt amounts as these stop the botulism from growing.
