Flare up of VA
« on: February 14, 2020, 08:01:46 PM »

I have been using estriol twice a week, inside and outside and all has been well. This week I wasn't able to apply as had a 7 day withdrawal bleed, so finally did an application last night and immediately felt a burning sensation. Woke up with that horrible wanting to wee sensation which has persisted all day alongwith some burning. I'm not sure what to do, any advice appreciated. Should I leave any further applications until it settles, or should I up the cream and keep applying until it (Hopefuly) improves?

Get using it.  Every night for at least 2 weeks.    It is unlikely to improve with out treatment.

Were there symptoms during the bleed? I found that I had itching high up as a period ceased. Too high to scratch  >:(

Take pain relief regularly.

Hi shropshirelass, I would try and power through if you can. When I started using Estriol Cream externally (I have Vagifem for internal use) it did sting a bit, so I mixed a little Yes moisturiser into it and that lessened the "bite".
Good luck,

You can carry on it using it when having a bleed

Thanks all, still not great, but could be worse, which I'm greatful for. I did do estriol again last night as advised and will do nightly until it eases off (hopefully).

An epsom salts bath helps me sometimes - neat epsom salts with no added fragrance. This is miserable for you - big sympathy.
