Cooking lovely festive goodies in the run-up, family (offspring and partners)  coming home, sitting round the warm fire drinking tipples and playing games, filling the house with greenery and strings of old-fashioned lights, Christmas Eve, Christmas Dinner with whichever family is here and comes over, making and wrapping (some) presents for friends and family, listening to carols ( even tho' I am totally not religious!),  drinks with neighbours, Boxing Day walks with family...., pre-Christmas gig at local venue, just the general atmosphere and bonhomie...

No bah humbug here :)

Spending time with family, watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation on Christmas Eve, turkey sandwiches and pickled onions, Christmas tree lights brightening up gloomy evenings, dressing the tree and remembering where we bought the baubles.

I'm in the misery club too - I would miss absolutely nothing as Christmas has been a non-event for us for quite a number of years, so there is nothing to miss. :(

I really enjoy Christmas, but in recent years it has become a very expensive and time consuming event. This year I am having 12 family members for Christmas. Everyone brings a plate to lighten the load. I am trying really hard not to worry about everything being perfect and make it about the people.

'having 12 family members for C.mas' - we are having pheasant  ;)

I don't know 12 people that I would want to share more than 2 hours at a time with .

I can relax with DH: 4 girl friends ........... otherwise  :-\

Christmas Dinner and a good excuse to spend the day in front of the fire.

and sadness remembering those who used to be here but aren't now. Bah humbug!
I agree with one Stellajane, Christmas always seems so much worse than birthdays or other significant days.
