estriol or ovestin
« on: October 06, 2019, 11:36:55 AM »

Would people recommend estriol or ovestin I started estriol last night, it's messy and made me feel a bit uncomfortable but not stinging on application. Ive got a GP's appt next week so don't know whether to ask for ovestin as it's more concentrated or whether it would be worse for irritating.

The nurse told me to start the estriol twice a week as I'd done the preload on vagifem. I'm not sure whether I should have more initially, as the vagifem didn't seem to work for me and if anything made me quite a bit worse.

With Estriol versus Ovestin, it depends how you react to each. I found Ovestin irritated, but am OK with Estriol externally, so it depends on the individual. If Vagifem didn't do anything for you, I think you should have been given Ovestin because it is stronger. Also, if the Vagifem wasn't working, why not do the loading dose anyway with one of the creams?

I use ovestin very successfully and it's not at all messy.  It's finding what suits you.
