Hi Sparkler, thanks for your reply. I do have permanent post nasal drip and clogged left ear. Also have has sinus pain in last few weeks, I did think the stabbing pain could be sinus related but would that account for stabbing pain in eyes and temples, top and back of head?
Of course I am now panicking with thoughts of brain tumors/stroke etc, anxiety, anxiety, anxiety.
Don't know whether to go back to GP, I think they are fed up with me. Did ask about HRT last visit, not offered as my flushes are not causing a problem. Seems to be just tough and suck it up if you don't have any other symptoms.
 :'(
Why do doctors still think that HRT is only to reduce flushes? I have just started it to help with VA and aching joints/muscles and to prevent osteoporosis and protect the heart.

Of course you are worried, because we read so much about symptoms that can be dangerous.  Why not make an appt. with your Practice Nurse for a well woman check?  Blood pressure, weighing, diet discussion .......... take a list and raise your concerns.

How bad do the flushes affect you Jillm?  Overall think about your diet and fluid intake.  Gentle exercise and 'me' time.

Do read our topics about vaginal atrophy, some ladies require HRT as well as localised 'ovestin' or 'vagifem'.  It's totally different to overall HRT.

I get head zaps.  I get sudden pains in my temple region, across the back of my head, neck, shoulders - a sudden 'oh!' and it's gone.  When I get indigestion in the early hours I do wonder .......

Sinus pains for me were like being hung over for no reason.  Woke 1 Ch.mas morning [1970] and we were travelling, I could hardly move.  Jnr Aspirin really didn't cut it  :'( :-\ but as long as I didn't bend forwards, move suddenly, try to talk .......... steaming with Vicks might help but that means leaning forwards  :-\

Thanks CLKD,

I think my exercise is ok just now, just back from my swim, finished my 10 mile swim challenge. Flushes are really nothing more than an annoyance, nights sweats can be worse, but nothing like some other woman suffer.
Fluid intake also ok and trying so hard to improve diet.
Bit scared to say in case I jinks things, but head ok so far, today's symptoms, buzzing legs as usual, and pain in upper abdomen which I think was indigestion, seems to have gone now.
I sometimes think I will never have a day again when there is nothing going on. This getting on a bit business is the pits.
Never mind spending a couple of days later this week in Alton Towers with family and friends.
I do love a theme park, especially the Towers this will be 9th time.Bit of a journey from Edinburgh though🎢🚘

I went on HRT for similar symptoms to you. I have always had hormonal headaches that manifest like sinus headaches. They can be awful and mean lying down is difficult and bending really painful. Whilst in peri they got worse. I was referred to ENT specialist who virtually laughed at me saying there was absolutely nothing wrong with my sinuses. Than's when I asked for referral to a menopause clinic. I also was getting epsiodes of dizziness and a bad stomach. No hot fushes at all. I'm not a 100% now but so much better. Sleep has always been a problem for me too and being wired was alwayts part of being pre menstrual. HRT hasn't really made much difference to my sleep, maybe a bit better, but can still be wired particlarly when on the progesterone part.

Hormones seem to affect everything, though it's always worth getting checked out, just in case anything else is going on.

Sorry you aren't feeling better.  :(

Sinus pain can affect all sorts of places in the head - there are lots of different sinus cavities. Maybe try a decongestant and see if it takes it away?

Hormones are so crap. They rule our personalities, which is just unfair.

Out of interest does anyone else get breathless, sweaty++ and feel really tired after simple exercise like going for a walk? Myself and a colleague used to go a 90min walk after work at least twice a week but I had to stop as I was so ill afterwards. I do Pilates once a week (rarely break a sweat & never been breathless doing it feel good after), go a walk on Sun with OH usually half an hour to 40mins and breathless, sweaty although nowhere near as bad as I was with longer walks (this was over winter too!). I miss my long walks :(

It's The Change - does what it says on the tin  >:(.

Foxylady: could it be a sudden drop of energy?  Ramblers advised me to carry Dextrose tablets with me for similar symptoms.  When blood sugar was low the tablets fizzed!  How are your VItD levels?

I would get suddenly hungry, feel very sick, get sweaty and have to sit down.  Fruit cake is also recommended  ;) and we helped a lady on a hillside.  It was obvious that she had low blood sugar and we had CAKE ........ her partner had wandered off down the hill and left her  :o.  We were a couple so felt able to approach her, we walked back to the Pub and she bought us a cuppa then wandered off to find him.  Never heard the end of that one  :D

I take Vit D3 5,000iu and have done for a few yrs. Don't think it is blood sugar related as I'd go out a walk just after dinner. I love fruit cake though! Nice partner she has!!

When ever I see a picture of that Valley in a magazine I think of her and wonder .......... if she gave me  :kick:  :stretcher:  :D

That's the capsule I was prescribed until I felt better.  Nowt was suggested as to taking it long term.  One shouldn't exercise immediately after a meal  ;)

Hi Jari

In answer to your questions:

I'm not on any meds

I drink lots of water but could do with more

Diet not the greatest but do try

I'm 42 and my last period was this week

Taking daily magnesium and iron/Vit C

Hi Sunny, are you on any
medication?

How much excercise do you do?

Do you have a healthy and balanced diet?

Are you drinking lots of water?

How old are you and when was your last period?

Are you taking any supplements?

Just trying to get an idea of where you're at.. x

Sunny, with your pressure around cheekbones, heavy eyes... could this be some kind of allergy? Do you get hay fever?  It could be due to congestion or infection in sinuses? Otherwise, it could be due to a tooth infection as these are linked to cheekbone in the tooth roots?
Dental appointment to check that maybe, but also maybe visit your local pharmacy to ask about a decongestant for sinuses.. have you tried any of these already?
