Feeling miserable
« on: May 16, 2019, 09:46:19 AM »

Morning ladies

Feeling so miserable. Started a very heavy bleed last week after changing from Sequi to continuous utrogestan.
Stopped taking the utrogestan as I just could cope with it anymore even vaginally. I'm also on Evorel 75.
I just feel so low and tearful. Been signed off work. Again.
I'm frightened to get up in the morning as I hate feeling this way.
I've gone from being a confident strong woman to a wreck. I just don't know what to do with myself.

Hi Nik,

So sorry you're having to struggle like this. A high ranking police officer was on BBC breakfast yesterday talking about being signed off work due to menopausal symptoms. She was unable to even go to the supermarket due to anxiety but now uses HRT and is back at work. I was badly affected this way too and more besides for years until I got the right treatment. Your appointment can't come soon enough. it won't be this difficult forever. Hang in there and keep talking. Xx

Using continuous progesterone will really take its toll when you have difficulties with it. When did you stop using it?

Try to keep in mind this isn't happening because youve become weak or lacking in some way it has a physiological cause. You're on the right path. You have an appointment and each time you've tried something that hasn't worked it's another thing eliminated therefore taking you closer to the solution xx

If utro is causing this it might be better to stick to sequi. Presumably you're meno rather than peri as you've gone on to continuous so perhaps ask your gp for long cycle sequi?

It's The Change - does what it says on the tin.  Trouble is, not many of us are ready for all those symptoms.

Give yourself some slack.  This isn't about you, this is your body doing what is 'natural' which is affected you all over.  ........ and breath. Perhaps make a note of what you would like to ease first. Make notes ;-)

Thanks everyone for your kindness.
The change? More like the possession lol.
I've stopped the utrogestan and seeing one of Louise Newson's team in July. Will wait and see what they say. Have used long regime before.
I'm very progesterone intolerant but my GP seems to think this doesn't exist! Grrrr x

Nik2502 it does exist. I saw a meno specialist recently and she told me it was the most common problem she came across x

It's what costs the NHS money I'm quite sure about it.  GPs that aren't up to date on various health issues which is why if they don't understand, they should refer their patients appropriately, which of course, costs the Practice money .......

Are you less miserable today  :foryou:

Yes thank you I'm less miserable today. It just hits you when you're least expecting it.
I agree that the cost to train doctors maybe a lot but you can't put a price on life. And that's what HRT gives a lot of us - some quality of life back x
