I worried that anxiety would stop me going to my daily radiotherapy sessions but it wasn't a problem. 4 mins. under the rays; it took longer to get undressed

I expect you will see the Surgeon for the results B4 beginning radiation. That gives the area time to heal, inside and out. I woke with a single thread across the breast, did you? with a plastic bead at each end

I had a bone scan followed by seeing the Radiologist who would do the treatment. I was given the option of a blue mark or a small black tattoo under the skin. This is to line up the beams exactly in the same area each time. I opted for the black tattoos: the blue marker pen would wash off apparently which meant no bath, tragedy! : and thought I would look at them every night in the bath and thinks "I've had cancer treatment." Nope.
It was so long ago that I took my own tape cassette with me to listen to whilst laying still. The technicians were on a balcony behind glass looking down so I was in contact all the while. It was a hot summer so the treatment room was the coolest place to be ! I was nervous the 1st time but the next day it was like I'd done it for weeks, 5 week days and a break. One day the machine broke down so I had to lop a day on ........

The area did get slightly sun-burnt for which I was given a steroid cream but told 2 use the smallest amount in order to ease any soreness. Otherwise no problems. Some ladies get tired. I put that down to the intense heat, travelling to and from the treatment sessions as well as working part time all the way through.
If there is an alternative to Tamoxifen then go for that. The drug comes with it's own problems so make sure that you discuss the options, make notes. 36 hours after my 1st pill I felt like I had 'flu, complete cold flushes from the back of my neck to my waist

. No one warned me about that either!
I survived. Take half a day at a time and rest as much as you can. I was advised to avoid the sunshine whilst undergoing treatment, to keep away from old people [that's what age exactly?] and babies until at least 4 weeks after ....... but no one could actually tell me why

Is someone cooking for you? Washing up etc.?
