Post Menopause HRT

Hi Ladies i am curious to know how many of you are taking a conti HRT patch even though you feel you are out the other side. Are there any of you who stopped it and have felt like you have your own life back. Been told that it is ok to stay on it if i want but just found out my sister has been diagnosed with DCIS (Ductile Carcinoma in Situ) although not an aggressive one i am concerned as this is usually one of the questions they ask before giving HRT, "do you have any close members who have had cancer". Any advice would be grateful.

Hi Jgr,

my mother has breast cancer and was on HRt for 17 years . It is personal choice, and making a choice once you have all the correct info. but being over weight and alcohol is a larger risk. Google  DR Louise Newson talking on Loraiine and she puts it in perspective. I think there is a slight increase in risk after 60.  But also it can be quality of life issue.
