This is terrible orangefoot. Also you should not have to pay to go privately in the first place. I am sure it is wrong that your doc cannot prescribe Utrogestan? This is a licensed treatment. Doctors can usually override their formulary or whatever restriction is in place, provided they can justify it. My gynae specialist GP is always prescribing me my HRT which does not appear on the formulary for our area, and she also prescribe testosterone off licence as well as extra vaginal oestrogen cream when I already have Vagifem on my prescription. She just overrides the system as far as I can make out - and writes notes. In recent vists she has been saying "as long as I can justify it, it's OK".
I would actually query this with your practice and take it further if you can because it is not right I am sure!
The Jaydess would have to be prescribed off-licence for HRT so you would need a specialist GP - but not a private one I would hope. If you are still under 50 then you could get it for contraception and then ask for oestrogen only preparation - but you would need medical supervision to check all was OK. Depending where you are in UK I think Nick Panay's (NHS and private) clinic at Chelsea and Westminster may prescribe Jaydess off licence? There have been threads on this.
