HRT and appearance
«

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has experienced HRT dramatically changing their appearance. I have tried HRT patches and Ellest solo and both made me look odd. I have found that they make my eyelids and nose swell. My nose doubles in size and feels very hard. I stopped taking HRT 2 weeks ago and noticed how different I looked. I love looking more like me but have fine lines, greasy skin and look emaciated due to volume loss.
I had all my hopes set on Tibilone as I know it's a different form of HRT. I started this yesterday and had a breakdown. My nose has doubled in size again. Just wondered if this has happened to anyone?

I felt the opposite! I noticed that I have no wrinkles, my skin is plumper and brighter and I seem more calm. Maybe you can give to it more time?

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your comments. I will discuss this with my GP. I definitely notice fewer wrinkles and plumper skin with HRT, but my nose definitely changes. I know some pregnant women complain of their nose swelling during pregnancy, which I think it cause by estrogen. I'm just clearly unlucky.

Maybe it is something else besides hrt, problem with your immune system, water retention or an allergy? It sounds odd to me.

It is known that men can grow larger noses as they age
Could you speak to a local Pharmacist?

Perhaps take a before and after photo to compare? Then take that to your GP as this is rather unusual.

Yeah, it's so odd! It's definitely the HRT as it happened within hours of taking it. I've taken 100's of photos and asked hubby to check I'm not going mad!

Hello sjpercy3,
This sounds like an allergic reaction. I would advise you to stop HRT until you can see your doctor and take your 100 photos with you.

It does sound like allergic reaction especially since you said your eyes swell.
