Hi Racjen,

just a couple of thoughts :Premenstrual dysphoric disorder, is a cyclical, hormone-based mood disorder that affects an estimated five to 10 per cent of women, with a diagnosis rate of three to eight per cent.

Interesting article, I don't know whether any of this applys to you?

And have you tried Dr. Hannah Short
MA (Oxon) MB BChir MRCGP DRCOG DFSRH
Menopause & PMS Clinic in Newmarket, Suffolk

Sometimes we need a combination of treatments. There is an answer out there.

Hi pepperminty, it's very interesting, but since it's all about women who still have menstrual cycles I don't see how it can be at all relevant to me - i'm emphatically post menopause, and never experienced anything like this when I was younger.

Haven't heard of Hannah Short - might contact her but tbh honest I'm losing all faith in doctors, even so-called specialists.

Thanks x

Hi rajcen,

I posted that article because the emphasis is on the premis that hormones ( lack and too much etc) can cause mental health issues and Hanna Short posted it. Call her and ask if she can help. We all know the stories of women who seemingly have tried everything and have given up hope and then they find the answer. But although very hard to do when you are so low, why not call her surgery today? What have you got to loose? Sometimes just to be heard and listened to by a proffessional that cares can be half the battle. I have found that there is no one answer, it is usually a combination of things that help.

I would also look into counselling through self referal or your GP, as we all need as much support as possible. I know loads of people who have used this service sucessfully, if just to off load. Apologies if you have already done this.
