Ovary pain keeping me from sleeping
« on: December 31, 2018, 10:18:04 AM »

I started sequential HRT at the beginning of Dec. I take Utrogestan 200mg daily for 14 days and the Oestrogen gel everyday.
I don't bleed during the 14 day break but my left ovary hurts.
It's keeping me awake. What could it be?
I do usually get ovulation pain but I've been back on my Progesterone tablets for 5 days.

If you usually get ovarian pain then probably nothing to worry about - I also get pain sometimes still, and I'm 65 and take HRT. However if it is sufficient to keep you awake then sounds like a good idea to consult your doc who might order a scan just to check all is OK - or maybe a blood test first?

Are you sure it is ovary pain?

It could be constipation? - left lower side is where the sigmoid colon is which is a sharp bend in the digestive system that can cause problems.  Progesterone slows the intestines down.

Plenty water and fruit and veg (and if you have to take anything, movicol is nice and gentle - would never touch ducosate  :-X )

Thanks. It's not constipation.
I can tell it's my ovary but thankfully it's subsided now.

Feels odd not having a bleed during my break. I was expecting one and nothing happened.
