These so called 'experts' should be struck off  :bang: :bang: :bang:  I would have written to ask for 'cancer risks', probably reading outdated research.

Suzysunday yes she approved both but decided on vagifem and ovestin in the outside. It's much better with the odd few days every now and again where it feels a bit burny. I would not go back and see the specialist that I saw again. Very disappointed 😞
I am keeping my fingers crossed for my GP appt. next week. I will refer to the NICE guidelines if needed and list the benefits which I seem to be getting from daily use of Vagifem.

They are 'guidelines' ......... also take a diary of how you have been, something concrete ;-)

At the Chelsea & Westminster meno clinic I was told I could use Vagifem nightly and shove in 2 sometimes if I liked. GPs know nothing about it. Specialist gynaes are aware that 2 a week is under-dosing. At present I use Vagifem every night and I have an Estring as well.

Was your VA very advanced?
I'm buying my creams and Pessaries bc my stupid doctor refused to prescribe (via the receptionist) as I'm on HRT and said I would be “doubling up” which is nonesense.
I'm curious if it would cause me issues if I upped the usage too.

I don't know if I would describe it as very advanced, just difficult to get under control. I was initially sent down the dermatological route as it was not recognised by my GP as VA, so did not get off to a very good start with obtaining the right treatment. The initial two weeks load up with Vagifem and then using every third night did not help much. That is what led to the discussion about dosage with one of the hormone specialists at Chelsea & Westminster. I'm also on 2 mg Sandrena daily, but not sure how well I am absorbing it. Will find out later this week. No problems so far with the GP prescribing what the menopause clinic recommends, although I stick to my nominated GP as I don't trust any of the others to be so amenable!

If I stuck to my nominated GP, i'd never get an appointment at all.

Same here, Katejo. It takes a lot of forward planning to see mine, so it's usually for 'administrative' matters such as adjusting HRT dose. Certainly not if I'm proper ill !!  ::)
