Coming up 18 month since I had my total hysterectomy and I can honestly say its been a life changing experience.
No more severe pms no more panic attacks no more erratic bleeding
I get the occasional hot flush but I'm not floored by them
I use 0..5 mg sandrena gel, no testosterone

I just feel I'm having a rotten time.
I was stable on the implants for 5 years. Then moved to the patches. Now I'm on Estrogel but having terrible muscular pain in both shoulders.
I'm getting considerably higher blood levels of estrogen these days on comparative doses from say 3 years ago and am wondering if my body is just telling me that it needs less.

I always thought that if we had no ovaries and uterus that we would need higher doses of estrogen than those in natural menopause?

I'm now 53 and had my hysterectomy and BSO when I was 46.

When I was on a 50 mcgs EVOREL patch my estrogen levels were consistently around 220 pmols and I felt ok.
On 2 pumps of Estrogel they're around 400 pmols. I'm sticking with Estrogel because the patches don't stay on when I swim.

My mood is so affected by my levels though.
