Is it normal to feel shabby on hrt?
« on: August 09, 2018, 02:26:14 PM »

Hello,
I'm 46 and have not had a period for four months- I have various emotional symptoms of menopause and persistent tennis elbow-
I want to feel better in terms of mood and energy and I worry about my joints!
I know that my oestradiol levels are at post menopausal levels.
The problem is that whenever I try an oestrogen preparation- and I've tried many!- I feel shabby- not depressed or anxious just kind of rough with a dry mouth! I also feel very lethargic and a bit self conscious so I never get very far before stopping!
But I know I need it.
I've read on here about other symptoms when starting HRT but nothing like those that I experience and I worry that I'm just not suitable for it (and I've tried differing amounts- often minuscule)
I wondered if any other ladies have experienced similar and do I just push on?
Life's awful without it but pretty bad on it  :-\ thanks for any thoughts.

Hi and welcome to mm

Do tell us which HRTs you have tried?

Do you still have your uterus?

Finding the right HRT is trial and error - we may be able to help you find something that will work for you.
Do look under TREATMENTS to see the options.
