Will you pay the fine?
« on: July 19, 2018, 06:53:16 PM »

..... if there's a hosepipe ban apparently the Fine is £1,000.  Well I have more than that in money's worth in pots around our ponds.  I would be prepared to pay as long as the Fine went to Water Aid and not the W Authority as there is so much waste across the UK.  In our village there was a leak for almost 12 months in one part and another for 6 weeks - no one would take any responsibility for fixing them!

We can't be short of water, we R a 1st World Country and surrounded by the stuff!

Apparently they are going to fly drones over houses to catch people using them.
I wonder if these car cleaning places will be able to use the hosepipes.

Probably because they are in business.   I have £thousands worth of plants around our garden and I am not prepared to lose them.  It won't do my mental health any good.  I have plans  :-X  ;D.  There is a Large Black Cloud above and buckets stood everywhere.  But I haven't had the energy to haul used bath water downstairs.

If they fixed all the leaks I doubt they would need a hosepipe ban - perhaps they could use the £2million they pay the CEO for it. You can still water your plants with a watering can. If it's a long way to the tap could you run a length a length of alkathene pipe to the ponds with a tap on the end of it?

The ponds will be topped up.  Plants will be watered.  We've had rain this evening  ::)

Will you visit me in Prison  ;D

You don't have to haul water downstairs if you have a window in the bathroom and a hosepipe. Let gravity do it for you?

I've done all that in the past.  Lived through 1975/6 and used the hose pipe.  Lived through 1995 etc..   I'm more clumsy these days so would likely slop as much on the stairs as gets saved  ;D

The hosepipe method works well and no slopping on the stairs - well not from bucket spillage ;D
