..... if there's a hosepipe ban apparently the Fine is £1,000.  Well I have more than that in money's worth in pots around our ponds.  I would be prepared to pay as long as the Fine went to Water Aid and not the W Authority as there is so much waste across the UK.  In our village there was a leak for almost 12 months in one part and another for 6 weeks - no one would take any responsibility for fixing them!

We can't be short of water, we R a 1st World Country and surrounded by the stuff!

Apparently they are going to fly drones over houses to catch people using them.
I wonder if these car cleaning places will be able to use the hosepipes.

Probably because they are in business.   I have £thousands worth of plants around our garden and I am not prepared to lose them.  It won't do my mental health any good.  I have plans    .  There is a Large Black Cloud above and buckets stood everywhere.  But I haven't had the energy to haul used bath water downstairs.

If they fixed all the leaks I doubt they would need a hosepipe ban - perhaps they could use the £2million they pay the CEO for it. You can still water your plants with a watering can. If it's a long way to the tap could you run a length a length of alkathene pipe to the ponds with a tap on the end of it?

The ponds will be topped up.  Plants will be watered.  We've had rain this evening

You don't have to haul water downstairs if you have a window in the bathroom and a hosepipe. Let gravity do it for you?

I've done all that in the past.  Lived through 1975/6 and used the hose pipe.  Lived through 1995 etc..   I'm more clumsy these days so would likely slop as much on the stairs as gets saved

The hosepipe method works well and no slopping on the stairs - well not from bucket spillage
