Prolapse and ring pessary
« on: January 29, 2018, 12:35:49 PM »

Hi everyone,
I finally plucked up courage to see m doctor on Friday who confirmed I have uterine prolapse which I knew as could feel the cervix at my vaginal opening!

She has fitted a temporary ring pessary but I am sure my cervix and uterus is now bulging down through the middle of the ring!

Has anyone else got one fitted and if so does this sound right? My doctor did say to go back if it wasn't right ?

She has referred me to hospital as says at my age (51) I need surgery but on top of the ,menopause symptoms that I struggle with this is really affecting me and my husband as I darent have sex.

Any advice would be gratefully received as am very tearful with this latest development.

I had uterine, cystocele and rectocele from age 23 and was given a ring.  Damn thing would pop out even just by crouching and lifting.  I refused a mesh hoist so opted for hysterectomy.  The cervix had to be pushed back after my last delivery x
