Alternative to utrogestan to take with oestrogel?
« on: June 21, 2017, 06:03:50 AM »

Have specialist follow-up appointment tomorrow. Thought I'd hit on a manageable formula but serious hair-shedding has kicked in (as it did with evorel sequi due to the norethisterone). Im seriously considering just giving up on the hair front and getting a wig but before that happens is there something else I can try with the oestrogel?  :o

Is the hair shedding simply to do with the progesterone?  Have you tried stopping the HRT to see if things improve?
Many women seem to do well on Provera alongside the gel. Are you doing sequi or conti regime?
There can be many reasons for hair loss- so maybe ask if you should see a specialist about this.

Hi thanks for your reply. Admittedly I'm making an assumption that hair loss is due to utrogestan as it's following the same pattern as last time this happened and when I stopped the evorel (continuous) the hair loss stopped, when I started the utrogestan (also continuous) it started again and is escalating as before. Have previously had fairly regular blood tests and there seems to be no reason for hair loss) Just had a not very satisfactory specialist appointment today but I'm now going to try provera so your post really helped thanks.

Hi Peacegirl
Did you have any luck eventually? I have hair fall on Evorel Sequi and sounds like people say norithesterone is the culprit.
