Hi Ladies
I have been on Elleste 2mg Duet for 4 months now but still feel very low anxious i wake up in the night and can feel my heart beat going fast try to breathe to make it slow down and get back to sleep but doesn't seem to work. I am trying to keep busy and positive as i have lots of lovely family and friends but don't seem to be able to snap out of this sad feeling ...I just seem to have a big knot in my stomach all the time ...
I'm back at the doctors on Tuesday should I try a different tablet one of the more plant based one ?
Any advice would but so helpful thank you in advance... X

Hi Littlebird. I can't advise on HRT but I'm sure someone will be along who can. I can empathise with waking in the night anxious. It's dreadful. I've just bought a music pillow so I can play meditation through it to see if that helps. I find if I can't get back to sleep just getting up and shaking off the anxiety helps a bit. It doesn't help with the constant tiredness either xx

Hi Littlebird
Welcome to the forum
I'm sorry to hear you are suffering with your hrt. The one I use is Femoston 2/10. It also comes in Femoston 1/10 which would be a good starting dose for you. A lot of ladies on here use this without any problems as the Progesterone it contains is a very gentle one which most people seem to get on with.
Take Care and Hope That Helps You

Good post Angel66. I agree, do try Femoston. There are plenty of options - info under TREATMENTS at the top of the page.
Littlebird - you've been put on quite a high dose from the outset - it's always best to start on a lower dose and only increase if need be. GPs tend to be a bit clueless when it comes to HRT. DG x

Ahh Thank you Ladies
I am going to ask the doctor if I can change to Femoston and maybe ask for a lower dose. Think he said because my blood was showing low he put me on the stronger dose?
I will ask him for some figure from my blood test in case that's any help.

Hi Littlebird - I am also on 2mg Elleste Duet - increased from 1mg earlier this year as I started having some more night sweats. I know what you mean about the anxiety and I also take Escitalapran which is an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety drug. I also dont think it helps when you have external factors as well (mine is my job!). I agree that you might have wanted to start on 1mg before upping to 2 but thats for a discussion with your doc or with an HRT specialist on this site - there are lots out there
Good luck - let us know how you get on?
