scumspawn - I trained as a professional dancer and before meno I had to really exert myself before I sweated. When working, the make up artists loved me because I didn't sweat in the face. I now sweat really easily, particularly in the car if the sun shines in - my face becomes really sweaty and my back is often drenched and that's sitting down!!!.
I have got used to this to a degree, wear cotton layered clothes and everything gets washed a lot. My joints are so damaged from dancing, walking is about the only thing I can do these days - I walk a lot. As for gaining weight, this is quite normal when meno hits and I have simply reduced the amount I eat by about a third and cut out as much sugar as possible. Diets don't work, you simply have to eat a lot less permanently!!! I am feeling quite smug these days - when I go round the supermarket I never go down the aisles with biscuits, chocolate or crisps and the only cakes I eat are the ones I make myself as a treat about once a month.
What I really hate is the loss of muscle and feminine fat. I have lost some weight around my bottom but my tummy has gone all flabby despite doing tummy crunches - my shape has complety changed and I know this is quite normal for the meno but it is non the less depressing.
The sweating isn't so bad in winter - I actually feel the cold far more these days but I do sleep better when it's cold.
Swimming is a good alternative - I can't do swimming as it makes my vaginal area sore because of the chlorine. DG x
