Anyone here from Ireland (or U.K.) HRT types available?
« on: November 14, 2016, 01:14:54 PM »

Just wondering if anyone here from Ireland? I'm only able to get testosterone in the form of tablets. Been told no patches, cream or gel available in Ireland. Was really hoping this wasn't the case and wondered had anyone had any luck getting it in other forms?

Are other forms available in the U.K. does anyone know? If so I'll be hopping across the border with a prescription!  :D

Hi cjmca - can't believe you can't get the gel!  Particularly after all the money you've spent. If you've got a script, pretty sure you can buy it online.

I've been asked to go on telly and talk about POF/HRT etc so I'll be having a national scale rant about it!

Estrogen cream isn't even licensed here. Gynae in top hospital in Dublin said can't get that here either. But I got it prescribed and actually found it in a chemist in the countryside of Wicklow. So boll***s to that!  But so far no luck with the testosterone gel, cream or patch. But of course viagra is more readily available, you know, because men need that for their health  ???

There is no testosterone gel, cream etc for women in UK either. It sometimes gets perscribed off licence though. There is a cream called androfem which is available in Australia and is specifically designed for women and you can purchase online,I did in the past with the ok from my gyne.

Cmja - just a little political here but do you think it might be a 'oh it's only women and their bits and bobs' reaction? I was married to an Irishman and couldn't believe the way women were treated  in a lot of Ireland - get 'em pregnant and that's about it!

Get on the telly and give it 'Laldy' as they say here in Scotland.

Hon you're in the EU (lucky you!), with a script you can buy any of the hormones from Europe online surely?

Hi Dazned - I know it's not licensed for women but Testim is available in U.K. with a script. After private gynae issued a script I can now get it on nhs. Not sure for his long but I'll pay for it in the future if I have to.

Yes but cmja - lives in Ireland which is NOT HERE. I'm trying to remain positive for her and show her where she might get it!

Things I have been told by consultants prior to figuring out it was just estrogen needed:

"Oh well you were abused as a child, no wonder you're in pain now." - yes, really said this. Only one instance, happened at school, long since dealt with.

"Often bladder problems are for life."

"Sometimes mental problems just manifest themselves physically."

"You'll just have to live with this."

All said by men. It's disgraceful what women are told here. It's a just shut up and put up mentality. So when my bladder allows, I'll be onto telly to give out yards. In a constructive way 😁 Oh and of course in Ireland women just exist to have children. God forbid you can't have them, or even worse, don't want them in the first place.

lol don't get me started, could rant all night  ;D

Yes,  I know exactly where you're coming from hon. No matter, you've found MM and now on a great protocol. Just keep going. By the way - DO NOT put testim gel on your eyelids- it's very fragranced and has a very strong alcohol smell so I'd imagine it'd be like popping Domestos on them!

 Good luck finding it.
