Oh I'm so angry because I specifically asked the menopause nurse about using tampons and she said it was absolutely fine and not to treat it any differently from a normal period!

Why do you think that you shouldn't have been using tampons Mojo?

Maybe because I suggested pads are better?  Intermittent discharge is better caught by a pad rather than tampon in case the lady forgets it's up there  ::) which can cause toxic shock syndrome.

How's the flow 2-day?

Oh right. Tampons should never be used for discharge but I thought Mojo was bleeding?

The beginning and end of any bleed I have consists of yellow staining - I am well post-meno. I don't class it as a discharge as such - it's just the part of the bleed and don't bother with it. Sometimes there is this sort of staining when the flow stops for a bit in the middle of the bleed - after the first flow and before the last bit. I wouldn't worry one jot if it is just at the end of the bleed and it isn't a smelly discharge. I always use daily-use thin panty liners at the end anyway as there isn't enough for a tampon!

I'm not sure why I thought I shouldn't be using tampons, it was just something that popped into my head - I'm guessing because of the TSS risk. Don't forget that prior to this bleed I hadn't had a period for 3 years, it just seemed odd to be using tampons again..

Also I'm getting worried about starting the sequi patches on Wednesday because the bleeding has stopped for now and my anxiety levels have come right down over the past week or so, I think due to the fact I've stopped bleeding. Now I'm worried about starting the oestrogen only part of the new pack because I've been reading so much on this forum recently about how oestrogen causes raised anxiety and insomnia!

Each lady is different.  Unless you try you won't know if the oestrogen affects you.
