Hi  I have been bleeding quite heavily since new years day, with slight cramping I'm 46 and periods stopped 2 yes ago last year I had a small bleed which lasted a day but went to Dr and after tests I was found to have a polyp which was removed and thankfully benign,no other problems till now, nearly a year later I'm bleeding again and feels like proper period, going to ring Dr in morning, but am a bit worried, any advice? :)

:welcomemm: ……… any un-expected bleed should be discussed with your GP or Practice Nurse.

HORMONES  >:(  ::) …….. polyps can re-grow.  Best get it checked!  Let us know how you get on.

Hi michelle.h. As CLKD says any bleeding after longer than a year without a period has to be investigated but it's probably something as simple as a hormonal blip. Did you get any signs that a period was on the way such as tender breasts or PMT?
