I find creams with hydrocortisone in make things worse after a few days' use (they can cause skin thinning) - my 'go-to' for ichyness or sore bits is bepanthan (nappy rash ointment) - I like the fact it's an ointment rather than a cream, as it forms a barrier to moisture.  If it's gently enough for babies' bums, it's gentle enough for my old bits!!
