I think Jamie Oliver has done a lot to champion getting young people to be interested in "proper" food and to cook, taking their minds off fast food.  Hats off to him for that.  However, I'm not sure about a sugar tax, or what it would achieve.

I like a bit of chocolate now and again, and sometimes a piece of cake with coffee or tea.   My favourite, though, is coffee and an apple (preferably the Pink Lady variety, chilled from the fridge).  When I was in primary school, they sometimes gave us instant coffee and an apple at lunch time, in place of pudding.  That did it, I'm afraid!  I like it to this day (although the coffee is no longer the instant variety!) and I have to say it leaves me feeling much less guilty and soporific than if I've had coffee and a cake!   :ange:
