We were clearly told by the hospital when my hubby was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, if we did not tell the DVLA and he had an accident caused by his condition he would be prosecuted.
He now drives on a short term restricted licence, he cant even hire a van.

Why then does no one seem to be interested in prosecuted a man who had previously passed out at the wheel of a bus.

It beggars belief to be honest.

An insult to the families indeed.

When did there become a rule for one but not for us all.

The DVLA won't act and the Police can't do anything unless there is a fatal accident  :-\.  One can advise the person's GP that it doesn't appear that the person is no longer safe …….. but he/she can't act either.

So that begs the question ....why do some people like my hubby drive on restricted licences. Pointless excercise.
He has to answer pointless questions such as.....do you do a blood test every time before you drive....em nope but you are supposed to say yes.

Now stating that there isn't enough 'evidence' to prosecute the driver of the bin lorry  :-\ - maybe asking for the Medical Records would be a start?

It's just not going to happen.

Just hope this man moves from Scotland. Glasgow has its own justice system and I don't think people will be kind.

The North Pole might be a good move because he won't be welcome anywhere else.

Is the driver still in Scotland?
I would have thought he would have got himself far away.
