we are growing runner beans in a few large pots in our communal garden.
Cue one neighbour to mutter about "is it an allotment now?" - ignore button switched on full blast.
I grow tomatoes and herbs in pots up on the flat roof outside my lounge window.

Runner beans are so easy. Grow them up a wigwam of canes in a big deep pot. We were eating ours...frozen....until February.
If you google pot container veg you will get lots of ideas.

yes, HB's right. They're in a big plastic pot and have bamboo canes 'wigwammed' that they can grow up. They grow fast and seem v easy to grow. Just watch out for slugs and snails though.
Everything I'm trying to grow could do with a bit more sunshine and warmth. This 'summer' is awful so far.
