Hi Wendy - welcome to the forum.
The advice to give HRT at least three months, if possible, is well researched and it is advisable to do this so that your body can get used to the dose of HRT and your hormone levels can even out. As you are still under 50 I think that the early period could be due to your own cycle breaking through and this should improve as time goes on. I've had a look online at the patient info leaflet and it does mention bleeding
"Irregular bleeding
You may have irregular bleeding or drops of blood
(spotting) during the first 3-6 months of taking
Femoston. However, if the irregular bleeding:
• carries on for more than the first 6 months
• starts after you have been taking Femoston for
more than 6 months
• carries on after you have stopped taking Femoston
see your doctor as soon as possible.
Unexpected bleeding
You will have a bleed once a month (so-called
withdrawal bleed) while taking Femoston. But, if you
have unexpected bleeding or drops of blood (spotting)
besides your monthly bleeding, which:
• carries on for more than the first 6 months
• starts after you have been taking Femoston more
than 6 months
• carries on after you have stopped taking Femoston
see your doctor as soon as possible"
It is still early days for you so don't despair. It is also common to get periods which are more painful for the first month or two but, again, this should settle down. I'm not too sure about dosage and it could be that 2/10 would be better. Someone else will be along soon to advise you I'm sure. In the meantime have a good look around at our posts. Lots of help and friendship on here.
Taz x
